About Me: I am a Wife, and a Mother to two kiddos!  I have a 7 year old daughter and a 1 year old son.  I have several years of experience teaching children.  I have a Bachelor's Degree specializing in early childhood development. I have taught in one capacity or another for the last 18 years.  I carry a level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card and am CPR certified.  I absolutely LOVE my job!  Watching my students learn through play is an absolute joy!

Curriculum: Children at this age learn best through play.  At Playhouse Preschool, we use a curriculum based on hands-on, play-based learning.  Themed units anchor the learning as children explore math, reading, science, art activities, and much more!  We will will focus on letter recognition and an introduction to letter sounds through thematic units.  We will also practice communication and social skills through play.  

Throughout our thematic units, we will focus on kindergarten readiness skills which include:

• Fine Motor: cutting, gluing, folding, tracing, pre-writing, using tape, etc. 
• Social/Emotional Regulation: Communication & problem solving with peers
• Lunch Time Practice: eating within a time frame, opening food & clean up
• Math Skills: counting, cardinality, measurement & geometry 
• Writing: pre-writing, name practice & letter practice
• Reading Comprehension: retell stories, ask/answer questions about text
• Phonics: Letter sounds & beginning spelling concepts
• Leadership Lessons focusing on Social & Emotional Skills needed to be amazing friends in our community! 

Schedule: We follow the Mesa Public school district yearly calendar for most holidays. Please see the yearly  calendar for specifics.                
           Tue, Wed, & Thu 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Location: School will be held in my home off of Stapley & McKellips in Mesa.  

Cost: When you sign up, it is assumed that you will be signing up for the year. The cost of tuition is broken up into monthly payments for your convenience.  If for any reason you are unable to continue with Preschool, I ask for 30 days notice and the next month's tuition to allow for time to fill the spot.    A non refundable registration and supply fee of $100 is required to secure your child's spot in class.  Payment can be made by cash, check, Zelle (909-781-7029) or Venmo (@Playhouse_Preschool) and is due on the 1st of each month.

Registration: If you are interested in learning at Playhouse Preschool with Ms. Amanda, head to the registration tab to fill out the registration form and send in your registration fee. You will receive a text notification confirming your spot.
